Join us on 29th and 30th June and chat directly to our makers about their creative process and any custom options that may be available after our artisan market.
Our focus on quality and originality ensures that each item comes with its own unique tale, offering visitors the chance to connect with the maker behind the piece and gain a deeper appreciation for their skill and dedication. At this weekends artisan market visitors can explore a diverse selection of products from vibrant alcohol ink artwork and homeware to nature inspired needle felting and natural skincare.
The picture postcard village of Tissington is located just a few minutes drive from the popular market town of Ashbourne in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District. Our venue, Tissington Village Hall, is located across the road from the idyllic village duck pond which with the arrival of spring, becomes an ideal spot for watching the adorable ducklings, adding an extra touch of delight to your visit.
The building benefits from a Wi-Fi connection, which means many of our stallholders can accept card payments, helping you shop with ease.
This Weekend's Makers
Our makers markets feature a changing lineup of small artisan businesses to provide an exciting and enjoyable experience each time you visit.
Here's a sneak peek at some of the stalls you can expect to discover:
Whimsical nature inspired needlefelting by Bluebell Felties - (29th June)
The majority of the wool used in Vicky’s work comes from her own small flock of Ryeland sheep. Before the needle felting can begin, the fleeces have to be carefully washed and combed by hand. Knowing that the raw material has been provided by Patchy, Bracken, Bramble and Primrose makes each piece all the more special. Vicky’s nature inspired creations include 3D ornaments, hanging decorations, magnets and keyrings.
Traditional Stained Glass by Tad Glass - (30th June)
Theresa works as a full time glass artist and uses the tiffany copper foil technique as well as sometimes using lead to give a variety of finishes to her different designs. Products include small window hung panels, hanging decorations and suncatchers as well as free standing candle holders and decorative stand alone pieces.
Vibrant Alcohol Ink artwork by Nichol Stokes Designs - (30th June)
Nichol’s small business journey started after she fell in love with alcohol inks during lockdown. She is now living her dream and works as a full time artist from her home studio in Sheffield. As well as creating original artwork and prints, Nichol also uses the technique to paint on non-porous surfaces including planters, vases and glass baubles.
Environmentally Conscious Jewellery by CFI Designs - (29th & 30th June)
Kitty is a self taught silversmith who creates beautiful jewellery using seaglass, which she collects from beaches around the UK. Having previously gained a Masters Degree in Environmental Technology, Kitty works on her business part time whilst also helping with environmental work on her family’s farm in Staffordshire. Her use of eco silver, up cycling broken and vintage jewellery and locally sourcing her materials where ever possible; as well as her use of sustainable packaging, all form an integral part of her business and commitment to the environment.
